TIMES BALI, JAKARTA – The Shusha OIC Youth Capital 2024 event, held from June 3 to 6, 2024, served as a crucial platform for young leaders from 36 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss and share ideas on promoting global peace and harmony.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Farid Gayibov; Chief of Staff to the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Hamid Nasibov; Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Ms. Indira Hajiyeva; Azerbaijani Parliament Member, Mr. Shahin Ismayilov; OIC Youth and Sports Chairman, Mr. Boubakari Maiga; and ICYF President, Mr. Taha Ayhan.

Minister Gayibov warmly welcomed the delegates, highlighting the significance of Karabagh, a region that recently regained its freedom after prolonged conflict and is now open for visitors to appreciate its beauty.

Under the theme "Islamic Youth Dialogue for Peace and Harmony," the event encouraged participants to explore various initiatives for promoting peace and collaboration among nations. Shusha, with its rich history and scenic beauty, provided an ideal backdrop for this gathering, symbolizing renewal and hope.

Fauzul Azhim, the official delegate from Indonesia chosen by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), emphasized the crucial role of youth in building a more peaceful and harmonious world. He urged the attending youth to adopt the values of Pancasila as a foundation for promoting global peace and unity.

"Pancasila comprises five principles that form a strong foundation for building harmony and peace, both nationally and internationally," he stated.

The event also served as a platform for the Indonesian delegation led by the Chairman of NYC Indonesia Central, Tantan Taufiq Lubis, along with Hatta Fitra, Hafiz M. Farras, and Rizka Afif. Their presence underscored Indonesia's commitment to promoting national values and strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan and other OIC member countries.

Shusha OIC Youth Capital 2024 was not just a meeting but a significant moment for young leaders from OIC member countries to share ideas and initiatives aimed at creating a more peaceful and united world. With a spirit of renewal and collaboration, the event highlighted the vital role of youth in addressing global challenges and fostering peace through dialogue and international cooperation. (*)
